PoKo's Designs is the brainchild of
Kris and Pat Osmundsen (I'm Pat.) We came up with the name in the simplest way possible - we combined our initials. It has
a nice ring to it, it's easy to pronounce, and it makes for an easy signature.
I've dabbled in art most of my life - but I never took myself or my hobby seriously. In the 20+ years of our marriage,
my husband has encouraged me to pursue the dream I never admitted was there. It took a long time (I'm very stubborn) but now
I happily and confidently consider myself an artist. (Although I still don't take myself too seriously.)
Kris has always loved wood - as do I - and has a natural talent for working in that medium. Everything on this site
made from wood is his work - I've just supplied a few finishing touches on some of the pieces.
Everything you see is handmade. No two items are the same, just as no two people are. (Even twins have their differences!)
I strive for individuality.
Kris and I believe that art should be as unique as the people who purchase it. Whether it's a handmade polymer
clay pendant for your neck, or polymer clay sculpture to grace that special area of your home, it should reflect you;
your style, your colors, your taste.
"But wait," you say, "I don't see anything that truly fits my personality." Ah, that's the joy of PoKo's Designs. We
love custom orders. We'll create a piece of handmade jewelry for that "tough to buy for" someone in your life, or wall art
or a polymer clay sculpture for that special place in your home. And when it's done, you can proudly display it - on your
body or in your home - an item that says "I'm like no one else, and I love it."
Now, isn't this just what you've been looking for? A place that cares about what you like, wants to know what you want,
and will then create it just for you.
Our goal is to offer quality fine and functional
art that is one of a kind. PoKo's Designs is the vehicle we chose to achieve that goal.
